Altrincham Scouts to the Iceland National Jamboree 12th to 19th July 2024
We are excited to share an international adventure for Altrincham Explorer Scouts - an epic journey to the 2024 Icelandic National Jamboree in Úlfljótsvatn, Iceland!

Up to 24 Explorers will take part in this epic journey. Alongside the 7 days of the Jamboree itself, we have organised a series of pre & post-trip activities that’ll allow the Explorers to immerse themselves in the Icelandic outdoors. These activities include glacier walking, cold water kayaking, and even a hike to a natural hot spring.
We have had positive initial contact with the local organisers, who are eager to welcome our group to the Jamboree along with scouts from 10 different countries, as well as "every scout in Iceland(!)." The organisers have even offered to pair our group with a local Icelandic troop, promising an unforgettable
cultural exchange.
To keep to our roots and to ensure this amazing adventure remains affordable to all, we plan to stay under canvas at the Úlfljótsvatn Scout campsite for the whole 12 days. We will have access to local cooking equipment and kitchen tents, and we will bring our own sleeping tents and personal gear.
